Roe Development
- East Midlands
- Completed May 2025
The Challenge
Roe Development required rapid establishment of 1,300m² of roadside verges and amenity grassland across their new development site. The project needed a dual approach combining hardwearing road verge grass for high-visibility areas with native wildflower meadow for ecological enhancement zones. Traditional seeding methods would have risked erosion during establishment, and the developer required a cost-effective solution that could meet planning conditions for biodiversity net gain while delivering rapid stabilisation ahead of site handover.
Our Solution
As Profile Products Certified specialists, we deployed our hydroseeding service using two complementary seed mixes tailored to specific site zones. We applied A18 road verge seed to high-traffic visibility areas, providing durable, low-maintenance grass cover. For amenity zones, we used EM2 Standard General Purpose Meadow mixture, containing native wildflower and grass species suited to a wide range of soil conditions. Our hydraulic mulch seeding process ensured immediate erosion control and optimal germination across the entire 1,300m² site.
Results

On-Time Delivery
Completed hydroseeding across all zones in 1 day, with visible germination within 7 days and full establishment in 5 weeks.

Cost Savings
Achieved 35% cost reduction compared to turf installation while delivering enhanced biodiversity value and lower long-term maintenance requirements.

Quality Results
99% erosion control achieved immediately with successful establishment of native meadow species meeting biodiversity net gain requirements.
